Ministries

The First Baptist Church of Amber offers a full range of ministries where you can grow in Christ and find a place of service where you can use your Spiritual Gifts to build the Body of Christ.

Ministry to Children

Our philosophy is that parents are the best teachers for teaching children how to worship.  We ask that children in grades K-6 attend worship with their parents.  Corporate worship is a wonderful time for the entire family to be together to worship God.

  • Nursery
    Church members provide a safe and loving place for infants and toddlers while parents attend Bible study and worship. These young ones are loved and cared for - all for the glory of Jesus Christ.
  • Sunday School
    Each Sunday at 9:30 AM children are involved in challenging and exciting instruction in biblical truths and history. Teachers who love children offer a nurturing and fun environment where children can encounter Jesus and His love for them.

  • Children's Choir
    Throughout the school year, children meet Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM to learn about Jesus through songs and hymns. Their experience not only introduces them to Jesus, but provides the opportunity to practice the gift of music and to grow in serving the church through the music ministry.

Ministry to Youth

  • Lives Under Construction - Wednesdays at 6:30 PM
    Lives Under Construction exists to REACH non-believing youths, to CONNECT them with other Christians, to help the GROW in their faith, and to challenge the growing youths to DISCOVER their ministry and HONOR God with their lives.

    Lives Under Construction helps youths answer the "What on Earth Am I Here For" questions.  Our ultimate desire is to see youth in love with Jesus and in love with each other in a way that is counter-cultural and authentic.  Check out a little about who we are, better yet, come join us in growing to be more like Jesus.

Music Ministry

  • Adult Choir
    The adult choir provides the opportunity to lead the congregation in worship through music each Sunday morning. The choir meets for practice Sundays at 4:45 PM. At certain times during the year, the choir performs special music and performances in celebration of Jesus.
  • Musicians
    Musical talents and gifts with instruments are a key element of the worship through music. Individuals with gifts and talents with instruments are encouraged to participate in leading worship through their instruments. The church maintains a grand piano and a digital piano/organ as part of the music ministry.
  • Solos
    Under the direction of the minister of music, individuals and groups can exercise their musical gifts to lead worship via solo and group performance.
  • Mutli-media
    A full soundboard and lighting system supports the music ministry along with video projection via computer graphics and other digital media. Video provides an engaging media in facilitating worship. Individuals with skills, talents or gifts in the area of multi-media are provided a means of worship expression through the worship media avenue of the music ministry.

Ministry to Adults

It is our goal to help you progress in the lifelong pursuit of becoming like Christ. We desire to help you to develop a vital and strong faith. Our purposes s not just to give out information, but to guide you into a transformed life. It is our joy to help you fulfill God's calling in your life. FBC Amber is a place that you and your family can grow and mature as a part of a larger "family."

  • Adult Bible Study
    Each Sunday morning at 9:30 adults join together in the study of Scripture and how to apply it to their everyday lives. The study groups are formed around a common thread, such as age or life situation.
  • Women's Ministry and Discipleship
    • The Women's ministry meets for challenging and engaging Bible study on Monday nights from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Contact Nancy Judd, njudd@fbcamber.org, or call 405-224-0220 for more information regarding Women's ministry events and opportunities.
  • Men's Ministry and Discipleship
    • Men's Breakfast - First Saturdays 7:00 AM

Jerusalem - Ministry in Amber
  • Wednesday evening meal, 6:00 PM open to the entire community. Join us for a great meal and fun.
  • Local mission opportunities serving the AM-PO community.

Judea - Ministry within Oklahoma
  • Resurrection House in Chickasha provides members with opportunities to support ministry to the homeless within Grady County.
  • Women's Pregnancy Center in Chickasha provides members with opportunities to serve and minister to women in Grady county who are challenged with an unwanted pregnancy.
